New Book: LOOK AGAIN: Where Gratitude Begins — A 30-Day Reflective Journey

The Gift of Giving Someone a Moment to Pause

The Gift of Giving Someone a Moment to Pause

When we think about giving gifts, our minds often go to special occasions.

Birthdays.

Anniversaries.

Graduations.

Christmas.

Moments that naturally invite us to celebrate the people we love.

Yet some of the most meaningful gifts aren’t given because of a date on the calendar.

They’re given because we recognise that someone simply needs encouragement.

A little hope.

A fresh perspective.

A quiet reminder that they are seen.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer another person isn’t something expensive.

It’s an invitation to pause.

We Live in a World That Rarely Slows Down

Most of us spend our days moving from one responsibility to another.

Work.

Family.

Appointments.

Deadlines.

Notifications.

Conversations.

Before long, we become so accustomed to rushing that slowing down begins to feel unfamiliar.

Yet beneath the busyness, many hearts are quietly longing for something else.

Space to think.

Space to breathe.

Space to remember what truly matters.

Perhaps that is one of the greatest gifts we can offer each other.

Not more noise.

But more stillness.

The Most Memorable Gifts Often Change the Way We Feel

Think back to a gift you’ve never forgotten.

Perhaps it wasn’t the most expensive thing you ever received.

Perhaps it wasn’t even something you expected.

What made it memorable was the thought behind it.

It made you feel understood.

Known.

Loved.

It arrived at exactly the right moment.

The best gifts do more than occupy space on a shelf.

They remain in our hearts long after we’ve unwrapped them.

A Book Can Become a Quiet Companion

One of the reasons I love books is that they continue giving long after they are opened.

A sentence can stay with someone for years.

A reflection can bring clarity during a difficult season.

A journal prompt can become the beginning of a completely different way of thinking.

Sometimes a single page arrives exactly when it is needed most.

That quiet companionship is one of the beautiful gifts that books can offer.

Who Might Need a Moment to Pause?

Perhaps someone immediately comes to mind.

A friend carrying more than they say.

A family member navigating change.

A colleague who has been working tirelessly.

Someone grieving.

Someone searching.

Someone beginning again.

Or perhaps…

the person who needs that gift is you.

We often become so focused on caring for everyone else that we forget our own hearts also need space to rest.

Giving yourself permission to pause isn’t selfish.

It’s an act of grace.

A Gentle Invitation

When I wrote LOOK AGAIN, my hope wasn’t simply to create another book.

My hope was to create a quiet companion.

A place where readers could slow down, reflect honestly, and rediscover gratitude hidden within ordinary moments.

If you’re looking for a meaningful gift for someone you love—or even for yourself—I hope these pages become an invitation to pause, notice more intentionally, and embrace the beauty of everyday life.

Sometimes changing a life doesn’t begin with dramatic circumstances.

Sometimes it begins with a single page.

The Story Behind LOOK AGAIN

The Story Behind LOOK AGAIN

Every book begins long before the first word is written.

It begins with moments.

Conversations.

Questions.

Unexpected lessons.

Small experiences that quietly shape the way we see the world.

For me, LOOK AGAIN didn’t begin with the decision to write a book.

It began with a growing awareness that some of life’s most meaningful moments are also the easiest to overlook.

The more I paid attention, the more I realised that gratitude isn’t something we stumble upon by accident.

It is something we cultivate by learning to notice differently.

That simple truth stayed with me.

Eventually, it became impossible not to write about it.

A Journey Before It Became a Manuscript

Long before there were chapter titles, journal prompts, or printed pages, there was simply a personal journey.

Like many people, I found myself navigating seasons that brought both joy and uncertainty.

Some days felt beautifully clear.

Others raised more questions than answers.

Yet through it all, one practice continued to anchor me.

Reflection.

Taking time to pause.

To write.

To pray.

To notice.

To ask what God might be showing me in ordinary moments.

Looking back now, I realise those quiet practices were already becoming the foundation of this book.

Why Gratitude?

People sometimes assume gratitude is reserved for life’s biggest victories.

I’ve discovered something different.

Gratitude often grows strongest in ordinary places.

It appears in conversations we almost rushed through.

In quiet mornings.

In unexpected kindness.

In prayers that are answered differently than we imagined.

Sometimes the miracle isn’t that our circumstances immediately change.

Sometimes the miracle is that our perspective does.

That has been one of the greatest lessons of my own journey.

More Than a Book

As the manuscript developed, I became increasingly convinced that I wasn’t simply writing something to be read.

I wanted to create something to be experienced.

A companion.

A quiet place where readers could slow down without pressure.

A space where reflection becomes less about finding perfect answers and more about learning to ask meaningful questions.

That’s why LOOK AGAIN isn’t simply a collection of devotional thoughts.

It is a thirty-day journey.

One page at a time.

One reflection at a time.

One ordinary moment at a time.

The Story in My Own Words

While words on a page tell part of the story, I also wanted to share the journey personally.

In the video below, I talk about how LOOK AGAIN came to life, what inspired me to write it, and what I hope readers will discover through its pages.

I hope you’ll enjoy watching it.

I hope this book helps you slow down.

I hope it encourages you to notice beauty where you may have overlooked it.

I hope it reminds you that growth doesn’t always happen through dramatic moments.

With awareness.

With gratitude.

With one intentional pause.

And perhaps…

with choosing to look again.

What Does Rest Look Like for You?

What Does Rest Look Like for You?

There was a time when I thought rest simply meant stopping.

Stopping work.

Stopping the long to-do list.

Stopping the constant movement that fills our days.

But over time, I’ve come to realise that true rest is much more than the absence of activity.

Rest is the presence of peace.

It is creating space for your soul to breathe again.

It is allowing yourself to slow down long enough to remember that your value isn’t measured by your productivity.

For me, weekends have become an invitation to do exactly that.

Not to escape life.

But to return to it more intentionally.

We All Rest Differently

If I asked ten people what rest looks like, I imagine I’d hear ten different answers.

For some, rest is sleeping a little longer.

For others, it’s taking a walk beneath an open sky.

Perhaps it’s spending time with family.

Reading a good book.

Cooking a favourite meal.

Listening to music.

Journaling.

Sitting quietly with a warm cup of tea.

Or simply doing nothing for a little while.

None of these are right or wrong.

The important question isn’t how you rest.

It’s whether you’ve given yourself permission to do it.

The Quiet Gift of Slowing Down

One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is margin.

Margin to think.

Margin to notice.

Margin to pray.

Margin to appreciate the ordinary moments that often disappear unnoticed in the rush of everyday life.

I’ve discovered that when I slow down, I begin seeing things I would otherwise miss.

A beautiful sunrise.

A meaningful conversation.

The laughter of someone I love.

A Scripture that suddenly speaks directly to my heart.

A quiet reminder that God has been present all along.

Perhaps slowing down doesn’t make life less busy.

Perhaps it simply helps us become more awake to it.

Rest Is Not Wasted Time

We often celebrate productivity.

Achievements.

Deadlines.

Busy calendars.

Yet nature reminds us that growth always includes seasons of rest.

Fields lie fallow.

Trees become still before new leaves appear.

Even the rhythm of day and night reminds us that life was never designed to move endlessly without pause.

Perhaps we weren’t created for constant motion either.

Perhaps rest isn’t the reward for finishing everything.

Perhaps rest is part of how we become the people we’re meant to be.

My Weekend Ritual

One of my favourite ways to rest is surprisingly simple.

A quiet corner.

A warm drink.

My journal.

A portion of Scripture.

And a few pages from a book that gently invites me to slow down.

No pressure.

No agenda.

Just space to reflect.

Sometimes I write only a few sentences.

Sometimes I simply sit in silence.

Sometimes one thought becomes enough for the entire day.

Those moments have become some of the most restorative parts of my week.

What About You?

What does rest look like for you?

Perhaps your answer today is different from what it was a year ago.

Perhaps this weekend is inviting you to slow down in a way you haven’t allowed yourself to for quite some time.

Whatever your rhythm looks like, I hope you find a few moments to breathe deeply, notice intentionally, and embrace the quiet gift of rest.

You might be surprised by what you discover when you stop long enough to truly look around.

A Gentle Invitation

If you’re looking for a companion to help you cultivate a slower, more reflective rhythm, I’d love to invite you to explore LOOK AGAIN: Where Gratitude Begins.

It’s a thirty-day journey designed to help you pause, notice more intentionally, and rediscover gratitude in the ordinary moments of everyday life.

Whether you read one page each morning or spend time with it over a quiet weekend, my hope is that it becomes a gentle companion on your journey toward a more intentional life.

Until next time…

May you find rest that restores not only your body, but also your heart.

With gratitude,

Glory Azubuike

This Book Is for the One Who Is Still Finding Their Way

This Book Is for the One Who Is Still Finding Their Way

There are seasons in life when we feel as though everyone else has figured things out except us.

We look around and see people moving confidently toward their goals while we quietly wrestle with unanswered questions, changing circumstances, and the uncertainty of what comes next.

If you’ve ever found yourself in that place, I want you to know something.

You are not alone.

In many ways, LOOK AGAIN was written with you in mind.

Not because it contains all the answers.

But because sometimes what we need most isn’t another answer.

Sometimes we simply need the space to pause long enough to hear our own hearts again.

This Book Is for the One Who Feels Stuck

Perhaps you’ve been standing at the same crossroads for longer than you expected.

You know something needs to change, yet you’re unsure where to begin.

The pressure to have everything figured out can be exhausting.

This book won’t rush you toward quick solutions.

Instead, it gently invites you to slow down, reflect honestly, and take one meaningful step at a time.

Sometimes clarity arrives quietly, one page at a time.

This Book Is for the One Carrying Too Much

Life has a way of filling our hands before we even realise how heavy they’ve become.

Responsibilities.

Expectations.

Disappointments.

Unspoken fears.

Before long, we’re moving through each day carrying burdens we were never meant to carry alone.

Reflection doesn’t remove every burden overnight.

But it creates space to breathe.

To process.

To notice what truly matters.

To lay down what no longer serves your journey.

This Book Is for the One Searching for Clarity

Not every season comes with obvious direction.

Sometimes we pray.

Sometimes we wait.

Sometimes we simply continue putting one foot in front of the other.

I’ve discovered that clarity often doesn’t arrive while we’re frantically searching for it.

More often, it appears when we become still enough to notice what has been quietly unfolding all along.

Reflection helps us see patterns we might otherwise miss.

This Book Is for the One Who Has Forgotten How to Notice Joy

Joy isn’t always found in extraordinary moments.

Often, it hides inside the ordinary ones.

A sunrise.

A shared meal.

An encouraging conversation.

A quiet evening.

A prayer answered in unexpected ways.

When life becomes busy, we stop noticing these gifts—not because they disappear, but because our attention is elsewhere.

Learning to notice again is often the first step toward rediscovering gratitude.

This Book Is for the One Who Is Ready to Begin Again

Perhaps you’ve made mistakes.

Perhaps you’ve experienced loss.

Perhaps life has unfolded very differently from what you imagined.

Yet every new day quietly offers us another beginning.

Not because the past no longer matters.

But because grace always makes room for another step forward.

This book isn’t about becoming someone else.

It’s about gently returning to the person you were always becoming.

An Invitation

If you’ve recognised yourself anywhere in these words, I hope you’ll receive this as an invitation rather than an obligation.

An invitation to slow down.

To reflect.

To become more aware.

To notice beauty in unexpected places.

And perhaps…

to look again.

Because sometimes changing the way we see is the beginning of changing the way we live.

Continue the Journey

The Lessons That Changed Me Before I Wrote LOOK AGAIN

The Lessons That Changed Me Before I Wrote LOOK AGAIN

There are some lessons that don’t arrive all at once.

They come quietly.

A conversation that lingers in your heart.

A difficult season that changes the way you see life.

An ordinary morning that suddenly feels extraordinary because, for the first time in a long while, you truly notice it.

Long before LOOK AGAIN became a book, it was simply a collection of lessons that life was patiently teaching me. Looking back now, I realise these lessons shaped not only the pages I eventually wrote, but also the way I choose to live each day.

I’d love to share a few of them with you.

1. Gratitude Begins with Awareness

For a long time, I believed gratitude was simply a response to receiving something good.

But I have since discovered that gratitude often begins much earlier—with awareness.

We cannot appreciate what we never pause to notice.

Some of life’s greatest gifts are not extraordinary events. They are ordinary moments that become extraordinary because we finally pay attention to them.

A sunrise.

A meaningful conversation.

A quiet evening.

The kindness of a stranger.

A prayer answered in ways we almost overlooked.

The more aware I became, the more grateful I found myself becoming.

2. Slowing Down Is Not Falling Behind

The world rewards speed.

Everything encourages us to move faster, accomplish more, and immediately move on to the next thing.

Yet some of life’s deepest treasures cannot be discovered while rushing.

Reflection requires stillness.

Peace requires margin.

Wisdom often whispers instead of shouting.

I’ve learned that slowing down is not a sign of weakness or lack of ambition. Sometimes it is the wisest decision we can make.

3. Clarity Often Comes After Reflection

There have been seasons when I desperately wanted immediate answers.

Instead, what I received was an invitation to reflect.

I’ve discovered that writing has a remarkable way of untangling thoughts that feel overwhelming inside our minds.

Questions become clearer.

Emotions become easier to understand.

Decisions become less intimidating.

Reflection has often given me clarity that hurried thinking never could.

4. Growth Doesn’t Always Feel Dramatic

We often imagine personal growth as a major breakthrough.

Sometimes it is.

More often, however, growth happens quietly.

It appears in the way we respond differently to familiar situations.

It shows itself in greater patience.

Greater wisdom.

Greater peace.

Looking back months later, we realise we have become someone different without even noticing it day by day.

Those quiet transformations are often the most lasting ones.

5. Looking Again Can Change Everything

One of the simplest yet most profound lessons I’ve learned is this:

Changing our perspective can change our experience.

The circumstances around us may remain exactly the same.

But when we choose to pause, notice, and see with fresh eyes, we often discover beauty where we once saw only routine, hope where we once saw uncertainty, and purpose where we once saw interruption.

Sometimes the greatest change isn’t in our situation.

It’s in how we choose to look at it.

Why I Wanted to Share These Lessons

As these reflections accumulated over time, I realised they were shaping the way I lived.

Eventually, they also shaped the book I would write.

Many of these ideas found their way into LOOK AGAIN: Where Gratitude Begins—a 30-day journey designed to help readers cultivate gratitude, awareness, and intentional living through reflection, Scripture, and journaling.

More than anything, my hope is that these lessons encourage you to slow down long enough to notice the beauty that has been present all along.

Perhaps today is an invitation to pause.

To breathe.

To notice.

And maybe…

to look again.

Why I Created LOOK AGAIN

Why I Created LOOK AGAIN

There is something about modern life that quietly steals our attention.

Our days become full.

Our calendars become crowded.

Our minds move from one responsibility to the next, often without ever pausing long enough to notice where we are or how we’re really doing.

In the middle of all that movement, something precious can be lost.

Not because it disappeared.

But because we stopped seeing it.

That simple observation has shaped much of my own journey and eventually became the heartbeat behind Journal With Glory.

It has also become an invitation I now extend to others.

To slow down.

To notice.

And perhaps…

to look again.

We Don’t Always Need More

We often assume the answer to a better life is adding something else.

Another achievement.

Another goal.

Another habit.

Another possession.

Another milestone.

Yet I’ve discovered that some of life’s greatest treasures aren’t waiting somewhere in the future.

Many of them are already present.

The challenge is that familiarity has a way of making beautiful things invisible.

The people we love.

The prayers that have already been answered.

The strength we’ve gained through difficult seasons.

The ordinary moments that quietly shape extraordinary lives.

Sometimes we don’t need more.

Sometimes we simply need fresh eyes.

The Gift of Paying Attention

One of the most meaningful practices I’ve learned is paying attention.

Not hurried attention.

Not distracted attention.

But intentional awareness.

The kind that notices the warmth of morning light.

The kindness in a stranger’s words.

The peace that follows prayer.

The quiet faithfulness of God woven throughout ordinary days.

Life often speaks softly.

We simply become too busy to hear it.

When we learn to pay attention again, gratitude begins to grow almost naturally.

Reflection Is Not Looking Back with Regret

Some people hear the word reflection and immediately think of regret.

Dwelling on mistakes.

Replaying disappointments.

Criticising themselves for what they should have done differently.

That isn’t the kind of reflection I hope to encourage.

True reflection isn’t about becoming trapped in yesterday.

It’s about becoming more present today.

It creates space to notice what God is doing now.

To recognise how we’ve grown.

To celebrate quiet progress.

And to move forward with greater wisdom than before.

Reflection should leave us lighter, not heavier.

More hopeful, not discouraged.

Gratitude Changes the Way We See

One of the greatest surprises in my own life has been discovering that gratitude doesn’t always follow good circumstances.

Often, gratitude creates them.

Not by changing reality.

But by changing perspective.

The same day.

The same home.

The same people.

The same responsibilities.

Yet somehow everything feels different when we begin noticing what we previously overlooked.

Perspective has remarkable power.

Sometimes changing the way we see changes the way we live.

This Is the Heart of Journal With Glory

Journal With Glory isn’t simply about journaling.

It isn’t simply about books.

Or podcasts.

Or reflections.

It’s about creating intentional space to slow down long enough to notice the beauty, wisdom, and grace that have been quietly surrounding us all along.

It is an invitation to become more aware.

More grateful.

More intentional.

Not because life suddenly becomes easier.

But because our hearts become more attentive.

If these reflections resonate with you, I hope you’ll make yourself at home here.

Whether you’re reading an article, listening to a podcast, or quietly writing in your own journal, my prayer is that every visit reminds you that there is always something worth noticing.

There is always something worth being grateful for.

And there is always another invitation…

to look again.

With gratitude,

Glory Azubuike

Continue the Journey

If this reflection resonated with you, I hope you’ll continue exploring Journal With Glory. Whether through future reflections, the podcast, or the pages of LOOK AGAIN, my prayer is that you continue discovering the beauty hidden in everyday life.
